Norwegian Sky cabins review

NCL Sky cabins for disabled passengers (wheelchair-accessible staterooms) are offered in the following categories and deck locations: Penthouse Suite (SG, Deck 10 – Norway) and Interior/Inside cabins (IA, Decks 8 – Viking and 9 – Fjord).

The following is an overview of Norwegian Sky staterooms, their amenities, furnishings, and included (complimentary) services:

All staterooms feature a sleeping area (bedside tables, two lower beds convertible to a Queen-size bed, plus optional additional beds for extra guests), an en-suite bathroom (toilet, sink, shower stall, bath products, hairdryer, towels), and a lounge/sitting area (wardrobe with ample closet space, vanity table, chair, smart HDTV with infotainment system, electronic safe, life jackets in the closet, mini-refrigerator, direct-dial phone, individual air-conditioning).

All Suites and Balcony cabins offer floor-to-ceiling sliding doors opening onto a private veranda furnished with a round table and two chairs or sun loungers. Furniture details for all NCL Sky cabin types can be viewed on the stateroom floor plans in the table above.

Suite amenities and extra perks include butler and concierge service, priority services (check-in, debarkation, tendering at ports of call, dining reservations), in-room dining with evening treats, a special room service menu, complimentary specialty restaurant dining (breakfast and lunch), complimentary mini-bar and bottled water, luxury cotton robes, upgraded bedding (pillow-top mattresses, pillow menu, slippers, towels), and a cappuccino/espresso coffee maker.

Owner’s Suites feature separate living and dining rooms, a bedroom with a queen bed, a balcony with a round whirlpool tub, and a bathroom with a bathtub and shower. Penthouse Suite amenities vary by category. Category SF includes a whirlpool bathtub, while SG (Deck 10, starboard) is a modified balcony suite for disabled guests. These suites have two lower beds (convertible) and private balconies. Category SE is commonly referred to as the “Romance Suite” and consists of aft-facing suites on Decks 8, 9, and 10. Each has a separate bedroom and living room, a large bathroom (with bathtub/shower), and an oversized veranda with two sun loungers, a table, and chairs.

Balcony, Oceanview, and Inside cabins include two lower beds (convertible) and a bathroom with a shower. Oceanview cabins differ by window type: Picture Window categories include O1, O2, OA, and OB. Porthole Window categories (with one round window) include OF, OG, OH, OI, OJ, and OX.

IMPORTANT: Since May 2015, Norwegian Cruise Line has charged a US$7.95 fee for room service dining. This service charge applies fleetwide, including on Norwegian Sky. Passengers exempt from the fee are only those staying in “The Haven” suites. As an exception, all guests can still order morning coffee and Continental Breakfast free of charge. After introducing the fee, NCL enhanced the room service menu by adding more hot breakfast items and expanding the 24-hour food and beverage selection.

As of January 2016, Norwegian Sky cruise fares include unlimited alcoholic beverages (premium spirits, cocktails, wines by the glass, bottled/draft beers) up to US$11 per drink. Guests aged 3–20 receive unlimited soft drinks (sodas, juices).
