Norwegian Sky cabins review

NCL Sky cabins for disabled passengers (wheelchair accessible rooms) are in the following categories (with deck location): Penthouse Suite (SG-deck 10-Norway), and Interior/Inside cabins (IA-decks 8-Viking and 9-Fjord).

Follows the review of Norwegian Sky staterooms as amenities, furniture and included (complimentary) services:

All staterooms as amenities have a sleeping area (bedside tables, 2 lower beds convertible to Queen-size double bed, plus additional/optional beds to accommodate more passengers), en-suite bathroom (WC-toilet, sink, shower stall, bath products, hairdryer, towels), lounge/sitting area (wardrobe /ample closet space, vanity table, chair, smart HDTV (infotainment system), electronic safe box and life jackets (in the closet), mini-refrigerator, direct-dial phone, individual air-conditioning.

All Suites and Balcony cabins feature floor-ceiling sliding doors opening to a private veranda with lounge furniture (1 round table with 2 chairs or sun loungers). You can see all the furniture details on the NCL Sky cabin floor plans in the table above.

Bonus amenities/perks for Suites include butler/concierge service, priority services (check-in, debarkation, ports of call tendering, dining reservations), in-room dining (plus evening treats), special room service menu, complimentary specialty restaurant dining (breakfast, lunch), complimentary mini-bar, bottled water, luxury cotton robes, deluxe bedding (pillow-top mattresses, pillow menu, slippers, towels), Cappuccino-Espresso coffee maker..

Owners Suites have separate living and dining rooms, bedroom (queen bed), balcony (with round whirlpool tub), bathroom (bathtub, shower). Penthouse Suite amenities vary by category. SF has a whirlpool bathtub, and SG (on deck 10 starboard) is a modified balcony cabin for disabled guests. These suite accommodations have 2 lower beds (convertible) and private balconies. Category SE is commonly known as “Romance Suite”. These are the aft-facing suites located on decks 8, 9 and 10. Each of them features a separate bedroom and a living room, a large bathroom (with bathtub/shower) and a large veranda (with 2 sun loungers, table and chairs).

Balcony, Oceanview and Inside cabins have 2 lower beds (convertible), bathroom (shower). Oceanviews differ by the window type. With Picture Window views are categories O1, O2, OA, and OB. Porthole Window cabins (with 1 round-shaped window) are categories OF, OG, OH, OI, OJ, OX.

IMPORTANT: Since May 2015, the Norwegian Cruise Line charges US$7,95 for room service dining. This is an extra service charge implemented fleetwide (including on the NCL Sky ship). Passengers exempted from the new (uncommon for the industry) room service fee are only the occupants of “The Haven” suites. Still, as an exception, all passengers can order (for free) their room-service morning coffee and Continental Breakfast. After implementing the new service charge, NCL upgraded the room service menu, adding more hot food items for Breakfast and a wider food & drinks selection (available for ordering 24 hours a day).

As of January 2016, Norwegian Sky cruise deals will be inclusive of unlimited alcohol drinks (premium spirits, cocktails, fine wines by the glass, bottled/draft beers). The exclusive unlimited alcohol offer is limited up to $11 per beverage. Passengers between 3-20 years of age will be entitled to unlimited soft drinks (sodas, juices).
