Viking Polaris cabins and suites

Most Viking Polaris staterooms (184 of 189 total) feature French balconies, excluding only the Deck 6 Suites (OS-Owner, ES-Explorer). Cabin sizes range from 21 m2 (Nordic Balcony / French Balcony) to 114 m2 (Owner Suite with a 73 m2 Terrace Garden). Explorer Suites have a shared balcony (Terrace Garden Lounge).

Viking Expeditions Viking Polaris staterooms offer the following complimentary amenities and services:

• King-size bed ("Viking Explorer" with deluxe mattresses and linens, cashmere blankets), optional twin-bed configuration, wall-mounted bedside reading lamps, Viking Expeditions jacket (keepsake, available only on polar cruises), Marius-pattern wool blankets
• En-suite bathroom (with heated floor and anti-fog heated mirror), glass-door shower, hairdryer, premium bath products and toiletries (by Freyja), deluxe bathrobes, slippers, towel warmers, and ample storage space
• Seating area with sofa, low table, vanity desk with chair, wardrobe, full-length mirror with mini lights (also functions as a night light with bedside on/off control), floor-to-ceiling drying closet
• Satellite phone (direct dial), 55-inch smart HDTV (3D, infotainment system with Internet access, room service ordering, movies-on-demand, live webcam views, Viking Expeditions ship channel for news, schedules, itinerary and destination information, enrichment lectures, and port talks), binoculars (for in-cabin use only), electronic safe (in the closet), individual climate control, 220V / 110V power outlets (European and US standard), coffee machine, minibar (bottled water, soft drinks, snacks)

Complimentary purified water (refilled daily) and twice-daily housekeeping service are also provided.

The cabin keycard must be inserted into a slot by the entry door to activate the room’s electrical outlets and lighting.

All cabin categories include complimentary movies-on-demand and 24-hour room service. Suite categories also receive free laundry, dry cleaning, pressing, shoeshine service, and a welcome bottle of Champagne. Cabin access times vary by category: priority access (Owner Suite), 11 AM (Explorer and Nordic Junior Suites), 1 PM (Nordic Penthouse), 2 PM (Deluxe Nordic Balcony), and 3 PM (Nordic Balcony).

Priority dining reservations (days prior to departure, in brackets): Owner Suite (100), Explorer Suite (90), Nordic Junior Suite (80), Nordic Penthouse (70), Deluxe Nordic Balcony (60), Nordic Balcony (none). All Viking Expeditions guests receive priority reservations for shore excursions and water activities (days prior to departure): Owner Suite (107), Explorer Suite (97), Nordic Junior Suite (87), Nordic Penthouse (70), Deluxe Nordic and Nordic Balcony (60).

Nordic Balcony and Deluxe Nordic Balcony cabins include a lounge area (two armchairs, coffee table, angled sofa). Penthouse and Junior Suites also feature French balconies (windows) but are larger, with additional storage (extra drawers), larger bathrooms, upgraded services, guaranteed specialty restaurant reservations, and complimentary laundry, dry cleaning, pressing, and shoeshine service.

The ship has only one Owner’s Suite (category OS), its largest accommodation (114 m2 indoor space plus 73 m2 terrace) and the only cabin with a step-out private balcony. The Owner Suite features a living room (couch, coffee table, chairs, wet bar), separate dining area (table for six), walk-in closet, powder room (guest bathroom), separate bedroom (king bed, walk-in closet), master bathroom (double-sink vanity, power shower), ocean-view sauna, and a large veranda (padded wooden loungers and chairs, four-seat dining table, minibar, live plants, Jacuzzi/whirlpool hot tub). Owner Suite perks include a custom-stocked minibar (including alcoholic beverages), premium wine selection, media library, earliest check-in, guaranteed dining and spa reservations, and complimentary laundry, dry cleaning, pressing, and shoeshine service.

Viking Expeditions cruise deals are all-inclusive, meaning they include the following in the fare:

• One complimentary excursion in each port of call along the itinerary
• Complimentary drinks, including alcohol (beer and house wine at lunch and dinner; wine selection typically includes red, white, and occasionally rosé)
• Free Wi-Fi (shipwide coverage) and unlimited Internet access
• Complimentary specialty restaurant dining (excluding only the lowest-category Balcony cabins)
• Tipping/gratuities (recommended daily gratuity of USD 14 per person) automatically added to onboard accounts; adjustments can be made at the Reception Desk. Alcoholic beverage purchases include an automatic 15% gratuity
• Beverages at onboard lounges and bars are charged separately (approximate prices: $6 cocktails, $4 beer, $5–6 wine by the glass). The "Silver Spirits" beverage package costs $420 per cabin (for two passengers) and includes unlimited cocktails (up to $9 per drink), beers, premium wines by the glass, one bottle of sparkling wine, specialty coffees, and unlimited soft drinks

The complimentary 24-hour Room Service menu includes pasta (with three sauces: Bolognese, pesto, Pomodoro), grilled salmon, cured Norwegian salmon (gravlax), grilled chicken, burgers (including vegetarian), chef’s salad, and cheese plates. Breakfast options include hot and cold sandwiches, French toast, pancakes, oatmeal, eggs, and fresh fruit.
