Viking Octantis cabins and suites

Most Viking Octantis staterooms (184 out of 189 total) feature French balconies, with the exception of Deck 6 Suites (OS-Owner and ES-Explorer). Cabin sizes range from 21 m² (Nordic Balcony/French Balcony) to 114 m² (Owner Suite, which includes a 73 m² Terrace Garden). Explorer Suites share a balcony (Terrace Garden Lounge).

Viking Expeditions Viking Polaris staterooms offer the following complimentary amenities and services:

• King-size bed (“Viking Explorer,” with deluxe mattresses and linens, cashmere blankets), convertible to twin beds, bedside wall-mounted reading lamps, Viking Expeditions jacket (keepsake, available on polar cruises only), Marius-pattern wool blankets.
• En-suite bathroom with heated floor and heated anti-fog mirror, glass-door shower, hairdryer, premium bath products and toiletries (by Freyja), deluxe bathrobes, slippers, towel warmers, and ample storage space.
• Seating area with sofa, low table, vanity desk with chair, wardrobe, full-length mirror with integrated lighting (also functioning as a night light with bedside control), and a floor-to-ceiling drying closet.
• Satellite phone (direct dial), 55-inch smart HDTV (3D infotainment system with Internet access, room service ordering, movies on demand, live webcam views, Viking Expeditions channel with news, schedules, itinerary and destination information, enrichment lectures, and port talks), binoculars (for in-cabin use only), electronic safe (in the closet), individual climate control, and 220V/110V power outlets (European and US standard). Also included are a coffee machine and mini-bar (stocked with bottled water, soft drinks, and snacks).

Additional complimentary services include purified water (refilled daily) and twice-daily housekeeping.

The cabin keycard must be inserted into a slot by the entry door to activate the electrical outlets and lighting.

All cabin categories include complimentary movies on demand and 24-hour room service. Suite categories also receive complimentary laundry, dry-cleaning, pressing, shoeshine services, and a welcome Champagne bottle. Cabin access times vary by category: priority access (Owner Suite), 11 am (Explorer and Nordic Junior Suites), 1 pm (Nordic Penthouse), 2 pm (Deluxe Nordic Balcony), and 3 pm (Nordic Balcony).

Priority dining reservations (days prior to departure, in brackets): Owner’s Suite (100), Explorer Suite (90), Nordic Junior Suite (80), Nordic Penthouse (70), Deluxe Nordic Balcony (60), Nordic Balcony (none). All Viking Expeditions guests also receive priority reservations for shore excursions and water activities (days prior to departure): Owner’s Suite (107), Explorer Suite (97), Nordic Junior Suite (87), Nordic Penthouse (70), Deluxe Nordic and Nordic Balcony (60).

Nordic Balcony and Deluxe Nordic Balcony cabins include a lounge area (2 armchairs, coffee table, angled sofa). Penthouse and Junior Suites also feature French balconies (window), but are larger, with more storage (additional drawers), larger bathrooms, upgraded services, guaranteed dinner reservations at specialty restaurants, and complimentary laundry, dry-cleaning, pressing, and shoeshine.

The ship has only one Owner’s Suite (category OS), which is the largest accommodation (114 m² interior plus 73 m² terrace) and the only cabin with a step-out private balcony. The Owner’s Suite includes a living room (sofa, coffee table, chairs, wet bar), separate dining area (6-seat table), walk-in closet, powder room (guest bathroom), separate bedroom (king-size bed, walk-in closet), master bathroom (double-sink vanity, power shower), oceanview sauna, and a large veranda (padded wooden loungers, chairs, 4-seat dining table, mini-bar, live plants, Jacuzzi/whirlpool). Perks include a custom-stocked mini-bar (including alcoholic beverages), premium wine selection, media library, earliest check-in, guaranteed dining and spa reservations, and complimentary laundry, dry-cleaning, pressing, and shoeshine.

Viking Expeditions cruise fares are all-inclusive and include:

• One complimentary excursion in each port of call.
• Complimentary beverages, including beer and house wine at lunch and dinner (red, white, and occasionally rosé).
• Free Wi-Fi (shipwide coverage) and unlimited Internet access.
• Complimentary specialty restaurant dining (except for the lowest-category Balcony cabins).
• Gratuities: the recommended daily amount (USD 14 per person) is automatically added to onboard accounts. Adjustments can be made at the Reception Desk (Lobby). Alcoholic beverage purchases incur a 15% automatic gratuity.
• Beverages served at onboard lounges and bars are not included. Typical prices are around $6 for cocktails, $4 for beer, and $5–6 for wine by the glass. The “Silver Spirits” beverage package costs $420 per cabin (for two guests) and includes unlimited cocktails (up to $9 per drink), beers, premium wines by the glass, one bottle of sparkling wine, specialty coffees, and unlimited soft drinks.

The complimentary 24-hour Room Service menu includes pasta (with bolognese, pesto, or pomodoro sauces), grilled salmon, cured Norwegian salmon (gravlax), grilled chicken, burgers (including vegetarian options), chef’s salad, and cheese plates. Breakfast options include hot and cold sandwiches, French toast, pancakes, oatmeal, eggs, and fresh fruit.
