Review of Pacific Explorer deck 6 (Cabins-Shops-Dining2)

Deck 6 houses the ship's two specialty restaurants (at fee per person) - Dragon Lady (Asian) and Angelo's (Italian/daily complimentary, evening specialty).

The Asian Restaurant features an origami-folded menu and non-alcoholic welcome shooters. Dishes are designed to be shared banquet-style, such as Indian spiced duck samosas, Vietnamese rice paper rolls, Chinese dumplings, Japanese tempura crusted sushi, barramundi green curry, honey prawns, chicken satay sticks. Desserts include mango and coconut sticky rice, jar of apple caramel milkshake, salted dark chocolate cake with sesame ice cream. Dinner bookings are made at the Reception Desk outside the Dragon Lady.

Angelo's Restaurant boasts white tablecloths and attentive service. Multiple courses of complimentary Italian cuisine are offered in a fine-dining setting (guests just pay for their drinks). Some menu examples include slow-cooked pork neck, veal shank ragout, fontina and pumpkin arancini balls, osso bucco, seafood cacciucco, pan-fried gnocchi and sweets like crispy cannoli. A further touch is Sophia Loren's face, plastered across backs of chairs and the walls. Bookings for dinner can be made at the reception desk.

Atrium Boutiques (P&O Retail /duty-free shopping complex) consists of Regatta Shop (fashion clothes, P&O Australia logoed merchandise, souvenirs, sundries, essentials, tobacco and liquor), and Illuminations Shop (luxury jewelry, watches, brand glasses).
