Review of Queen of the Oceans deck 8 (D)

  • Cafe Jardin (specialty restaurant by celebrity chef Marco Pierre White; complimentary breakfast and lunch, dinner is at surcharge GBP8.50 PP, open 24 hour). Cafe Jardin does not serve traditional English breakfast. However, there are always hot dishes on offer like poached eggs and breakfast panini’s which change during the week, along with fruits, cheeses, cereals, yoghurts, cold meats, croissants, pastries, etc. Lunchtime offerings include a salad bar, soup of the day, hot dishes like onion Panini, salmon fishcakes and steak, filled baguettes including egg mayonnaise and crayfish tail and desserts (gateaux's, fruit salad, pastries). Dinner menu rotates between 2 menus and features a choice of sharing boards and small plates with dishes like Basil Soup and Sweet Cherry Tomato or Seafood Board and Smoked Fish and large plates, pizza, pasta and salads with options ranging from Sicilian Style Halibut and Wild Mushroom Risotto to Gorgonzola and Rocket Salad to Pizza of the Day. For dessert passengers receive a trio of desserts that they can select from a choice of Baked Ricotta Cheesecake, Tiramisu, Chocolate Torte, Lemon Tart, Summer Fruits in Elderflower and Rose Water Jelly. Coffee is served at the end of the meal accompanied by chocolate salami and amaretti (Costa Coffee is also served at additional charge).
