Review of Viking Mississippi deck 5 (Sundeck-Lido-Pools-Cabins)

River Cafe is the ship's Lido Buffet restaurant and bar lounge with indoor seating and an outdoor area (terrace without seating). River Cafe features floor-ceiling and wall-to-wall windows, an open kitchen (live cooking station), a bakery, market-style buffet stations. The Lido Restaurant serves Breakfast (6:30-9:30 am), Lunch (11:30 am - 2:30 pm), and Dinner (6-9 pm). The breakfast menu has a selection of fresh-baked foods, an omelette station (made-to-order eggs, and omelettes). The Lunch menu includes fresh-made pasta and pizzas, a salad bar, daily special (sandwiches), market-type food stations for meats, grilled food, fast food, desserts. Dinner menus are the same as The Restaurant’s (Dining Room on Deck 1). At lunches and dinners are also offered freshly made gelato ice creams.

The aft-located Aquavit Terrace is a sundeck bar lounge with a retractable glass roof (indoor-outdoor seating) and BBQ area (grilled food station). The adjacent Sun Terrace is an outdoor lounge (sundeck / sunbathing area) with premium garden furniture (loungers, daybeds, side tables) and a heated swimming pool (Infinity Plunge Pool).

Each cabin deck has a launderette (laundry room with self-service laundromats). Three Lifts (glass-door elevators) connect all decks. Two elevators are in the Atrium (midship) and one is located forward-portside. The elevators access all decks (1-5). All decks are also interlinked via stairs (forward, midship and aft).

Cruise cabins from 500 to 519, all of which are balcony staterooms in categories DV1 (Deluxe Veranda, rooms #516-517), TS1 (Terrace Suites, midship rooms #518-519 and forward-starboard room #503), ES1 (forward-facing Explorer Suites, rooms #500-501), and the rest are PS1 (Penthouse Junior Suites).
