Port Limassol (Cyprus) is due to welcome 150+ cruise ships and ~160,000 passengers in 2022 recording a substantial increase in comparison with 2020 and & 2021.
More than one of the leading cruise operators in the world has chosen the port of Limassol as a starting point.
At the same time, Cypriots seem to favor cruising for their vacations mainly because it provides luxury with sightseeing. And a number of cruise ships are described as "mobile cities."
In July 2017, DP World (Dubai) opened the new DP World Limassol cruise terminal. The facility is sized 6970 m2 (75000 ft2) and is the corporation's 3rd cruise passenger terminal worldwide (following projects in Argentina and UAE). Terminal's East Berth has a length of 480 m (1575 ft) and a depth of 11 m (336 ft) allowing docking for the world's biggest cruise liners.
According to DP World Limassol’s Doros Aresti, 2022 is to record a significant increase in comparison with 2019 which was a year of recovery for the cruise industry in Cyprus. The upward trend was expected to continue and even improve next year.
