Cruise Month returns to Australia & New Zealand

Throughout September 2022, CLIA-Cruise Lines International Association initiative will bring together all major cruise shipping companies and travel agencies to help mark the return of cruising to Australasia as well as highlight the latest cruise itineraries available around the globe.

Under the new theme of #LoveCruise, Cruise Month is expected to put a spotlight on cruising through cruise company campaigns, newspaper travel features, travel agent initiatives, and social media promotions. Cruise fans will have the chance to explore the latest innovations in cruising as well as gain expert advice through CLIA travel agents.

This year’s Cruise Month is the first since 2019. It will progress through 4 weekly themes: Ocean Cruising (Sept 4-10), River Cruising (Sept 11-17), Expedition Cruising (Sept 18-24), and Luxury Cruising (Sept 25-Oct 1).

CLIA Managing Director Australasia Joel Katz said the return of cruising to their region had reignited the passion of Australian and New Zealand travelers, so Cruise Month would be the ideal time to find out what was on offer in destinations around the world.

“A certified CLIA travel agent is the best place to start and has the expert insight needed to guide a traveller as they choose their ideal cruise.”

This week’s Ocean Cruising theme put a focus on sea journeys around the globe, including in local waters ahead of the upcoming summer cruise season. 20+ CLIA cruise lines are due to operate in Australasian waters between now and the end of April next year, visiting dozens of ports/destinations throughout the region.
