Damen Shipyards has recently entered into an agreement to construct a Fast Ferry 4212 (FFe 4212) for the Korean ferry operator KT Marine.

The commissioned by KT Marine new ferryboat is currently in the process of being built at Damen Song Cam Shipyard (in Thuy Nguyen/Hai Phong, Vietnam) and is slated for completion by mid-2024, as confirmed by the Dutch shipbuilding company.

This addition to KT Marine's fleet represents Damen's 7th fast ferry for the Korean market and the 5th for South Korean operators.

Og Yeol Bag (KT Marine's President) expressed confidence in Damen's capabilities, stating,

"Our management team holds a strong belief that our choice of Damen for the Fast Ferry 4212 will enable us to elevate our service to the highest standards, comfort and reliability for our valued customers."

The FFe 4212, measuring 42 meters (LOA length) and constructed of aluminum, boasts a capacity of up to 423 passengers and achieves a maximum speed of 40 knots/74 kph/46 mph.

Propulsion for this impressive speed is provided by 4 main engines, delivering a total power of 5,760 bkW to 4 waterjets.

Upon completion, KT Marine plans to deploy the new vessel on a route connecting Yeosu to Geomundo Island, located off the south coast of South Korea.
