Last Thursday, April 4th, the Hellenic Air Force (Greece's air force) conducted a medevac (emergency medical evacuation/airlift) to rescue a 25-year-old crew (Cuban dancer) who suffered serious injuries on the Celestyal Discovery ship.

Air Force personnel swiftly responded to the distress call, initiating a rescue mission at 10:30 pm local time (19:30 UTC).

Christina-Agavi Kousourakis (Air Force Lieutenant) commanding a Super Puma helicopter, along with her co-pilot, Lieutenant Panagiotis Nasta, departed from their base on Rhodes Island to conduct the medevac.

The incident took place while the Celestyal Discovery was sailing near Karpathos Island.

The injured crew, who was part of the ship's entertainment team, required urgent medical attention after falling and sustaining severe injuries. She was airlifted to a hospital in Rhodes for immediate medical treatment.
