Crew medevaced from P&O Australia's ship Pacific Adventure

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter executed a medical evacuation of a crew member from the P&O Australia cruise ship, Pacific Adventure, who urgently required medical attention ashore.

The operation took place ~20 NM (37 km) east of Newcastle, New South Wales.

According to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service's statement on social media, a man onboard the vessel was experiencing a medical emergency necessitating the presence of a NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic and an NSW Health doctor.

Following the stabilization of the patient, they were airlifted into the helicopter and transferred to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle.

Both passengers and crew expressed gratitude towards the aircrew and medical team for their crucial role in ensuring the safe execution of the mission, facilitating the patient's access to necessary medical care.
