CroisiEurope, the largest river cruise operator in Europe, has announced a new 4-day itinerary set to operate along the canals of Belgium in December 2025. Designed around seasonal tourism, the cruise will connect the historic cities of Bruges and Ghent, coinciding with their annual Christmas markets.
Operating aboard the 22-passenger MS Raymonde, the itinerary includes scheduled visits to two of Belgium’s most prominent holiday markets. In Bruges, guests will visit both the main Christmas market in Grote Markt—known for its traditional wooden chalets, skating rink, and illuminated decorations—and a smaller market near Simon Stevinplein, which emphasizes local artisanal crafts. In Ghent, the Christmas market—branded as Gentse Winterfeesten—extends through the city’s historic center, from Sint-Baafsplein to the Korenmarkt, with more than 150 wooden stalls offering regional food, gifts, and seasonal drinks.
The itinerary also features guided walking tours of both cities. In Bruges, passengers will tour the medieval center followed by a beer tasting at the Bourgogne des Flandres brewery. In Ghent, the shore excursion includes a city tour and a tasting of local specialties. Onboard, guests can expect seasonal refreshments such as hot chocolate, bredeles (Alsatian Christmas cookies), and sweet Belgian waffles.
MS Raymonde, part of CroisiEurope’s canal barge fleet, is a small vessel featuring 11 outward-facing en-suite cabins. Amenities include a restaurant, lounge bar, sun deck, and Jacuzzi-equipped relaxation area. A crew of six, including a dedicated chef, provides full-service hospitality and dining.
Cruises will depart from Ghent to Bruges on December 2 and 10, and from Bruges to Ghent on December 6 and 14. Fares begin at US$1,444 per person, inclusive of full board, drinks, excursions, and port charges.
