With the dawn of its Summer 2027 offering, Explora Journeys, the luxury ocean travel brand of MSC Group, has revealed a selection of pre- and post-voyage Destination Immersions designed for both Alaska and Western Canada. Anchored in principles of slow travel and purposeful exploration, this new series allows guests to explore with deliberate intent, venturing into the wilderness and cultural depths of these distinguished regions, whether before setting sail or after disembarkation.

The land-based immersions, spanning 3 to 5 nights, combine deluxe rail travel with curated interactions with nature, culture, and cuisine, all upheld by the brand’s signature refinement.

The brand’s addition of Alaska to its global destinations marks a momentous expansion. The Destination Immersions from Seward bridge the refined calm of EXPLORA III with the untamed majesty of Alaska’s interior, unveiling remote national parks, iconic wildlife, and authentic cultural encounters.

In the pre-voyage segment, the “Alaska Immersion” unfolds over three nights across Anchorage, Denali, and Talkeetna. Travelers journey through the raw wilderness aboard a luxe dome rail and motorcoach, visit Denali National Park, wander through the spirited town of Talkeetna, and conclude with a visit to the Iditarod Headquarters before embarking.

The “Alaskan Adventure,” lasting four nights, offers a more expansive scope: two nights in Denali, rail travel of the highest order, intimate wildlife encounters, and a dramatic contrast between Fairbanks and glacier-framed Girdwood.

Post-voyage, “Encounter Alaska’s Soul” retraces the path in reverse—Talkeetna, Denali, and Anchorage—featuring dog-sledding, tundra wilderness tours, and scenic rail journeys to Anchorage, offering a lingering embrace of the Alaskan wild.

The “Into the Alaskan Wilderness” itinerary spans four nights through Girdwood, Denali, and Fairbanks, weaving together wildlife conservation, sled-dog culture, and exploration of Denali National Park before ending in the Arctic gateway of Fairbanks.

For those whose journeys begin or end in Vancouver, Explora Journeys presents rail voyages through the Canadian Rockies aboard the storied Rocky Mountaineer’s Goldleaf-class service. The pre-journey orientation carries guests westbound from Calgary to Vancouver over five nights, traversing the high plains and the alpine grandeur of Banff, glacial lakes, Kamloops, and a final half-day in Vancouver with mountaintop gondola rides and elegant dining against an alpine backdrop.

The mirror eastbound return, also five nights, allows for deeper immersion in Banff’s waters and waterfalls, before concluding with moments of reflection in Calgary.

Anna Nash, President of Explora Journeys, conveyed that these Destination Immersions embody the brand’s dedication to immersive luxury that transcends the ship’s decks. She noted they enable guests to journey with intention and authenticity, fostering deeper connections with the visited landscapes—from Alaska’s untamed wilderness to the cultural richness of the Canadian Rockies—thus crafting a seamless, meaningful continuum between land and sea.

Reservations for these immersive additions to the Summer 2027 voyages are now open through Explora’s official website, the Explora Experience Centre, or via trusted travel advisors.
