DCL-Disney Cruise Line has announced the postponement of the Disney Adventure’s maiden voyage, originally scheduled for December 15th, 2025, to March 10th, 2026, citing unforeseen delays in the shipbuilding process. The ship was planned to be completed in Wismar under the management of Meyer Werft's Papenburg shipyard.
The adjustment affects all sailings through and including March 12th, 2026. Guest bookings on the maiden voyage are being moved automatically to the new date, with the voyage fare reduced by 50%. Guests unable to join the rescheduled maiden sailing may request a full refund and still retain the 50% discount for a future cruise.
Passengers booked on other cancelled sailings between December 2025 and March 2026 will receive automatic refunds for amounts paid and will also be offered a 50% future cruise credit.
Travel agents have been notified that future-cruise discounts must be applied to bookings made by March 31st, 2026, for sailings departing on or before March 31st, 2027. The discounted rate will be shown on guest accounts by October 8th, 2025, with adjustments and updated confirmations issued within 72 hours where needed. Commission structures for agents on affected sailings remain in place; commissions on new bookings made using the future-cruise discount will be calculated based on the discounted fare in accordance with Disney Cruise Line policies.
The Disney Adventure, acquired in 2022 and extensively reimagined from a partially built hull, is undergoing trials and finishing work. The delay is intended to allow sufficient time to complete interior outfitting and other shipboard systems to the standards Disney Cruise Line expects.
