Oceania Cruises has announced the forthcoming construction of the Oceania Sonata, the inaugural vessel in its new Sonata Class. This 1,390-guest ship is scheduled to make its maritime debut in August 2027 and will be the first of four such vessels, marking a significant evolution of the line's intimate and luxurious fleet.
The Oceania Sonata is presented as a masterpiece of naval design, intended to deliver a symphony of experiences centered upon the brand's renowned culinary legacy. The vessel's design philosophy harmonizes grand, light-filled public areas with serene, private enclaves, creating an ambiance that is both uplifting and indulgent for the discerning traveler.
Noted for being the most spacious and amenity-rich ship in the fleet to date, a full 30% of its accommodations will be suites. This includes the introduction of two new suite categories and a reimagined Owner's Suite. Reflecting a core principle of connection with the sea, every suite and stateroom will feature a private, spacious veranda.
Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer of Oceania Cruises, stated that the unveiling of the Oceania Sonata represents the start of an exciting new chapter for the line. He expressed that each new ship provides an opportunity to perfect the travel experience, and that this vessel embodies the company's future vision, defined by a passion for exquisite cuisine, exceptional service, and immersive travel. He further indicated that more news would be shared in the coming weeks and months.
Aboard the Oceania Sonata, guests will find ten distinct culinary experiences. These will blend beloved signature venues, such as the Grand Dining Room, Jacques, Red Ginger, Polo Grill, and Toscana, with innovative new concepts. Details on exclusive, first-at-sea dining venues are promised in the months ahead.
