The boutique expedition vessel SH Vega will carry the first edition of a new creative programme called “Photojournalism at Sea,” a collaboration between Swan Hellenic and Travel Photo Tour. The voyage is scheduled to depart on March 30th, 2026 and sail from Valparaíso/Santiago, Chile, to Callao/Lima, Peru, along the Pacific coast.
Over the course of the 10-day expedition, guests will be guided by experienced Travel Photo Tour photographers who will lead thematic photography workshops, shore-based field assignments, storytelling labs and personalized image-review sessions. The aim is to foster visual storytelling, enabling travellers to document the cultural and natural richness of Chile’s and Peru’s coastal regions — from vibrant port cities to arid deserts, ancient sites and contemporary coastal communities.
At the end of the programme, each participant is to assemble a curated portfolio of their best images and receive a professionally designed hardcover coffee-table book featuring selected photographs, participant portraits, bios, and highlights of the expedition — a lasting record of their voyage and creative journey.
This inaugural Photojournalism at Sea voyage aboard SH Vega represents an attempt to blend expedition cruising with purposeful creative engagement — offering more than sightseeing: a chance to explore remote coastlines and cultures through the lens of storytelling photography.
