The Xanterra Parks and Resorts-owned Windstar Cruises has selected Libby Anschutz to serve as godmother of its newest ship, Star Seeker.
The christening ceremony is scheduled to take place in Miami on January 15th, 2026.
With sea trials completed and final outfitting underway at the WestSEA shipyard in Viana do Castelo, Portugal, Star Seeker is preparing to cross the Atlantic for an inaugural season in the Caribbean.
The christening voyage will follow its naming, launching the vessel into service and marking the start of its operational life.
The company leadership indicated that involving the Anschutz family in Star Seeker’s debut held particular significance — Libby’s role as godmother was described as bringing a personal connection and symbolic blessing to the ship’s entry into service.
Star Seeker is a 224-passenger motor yacht featuring 112 suites — most with private verandas or floor-to-ceiling windows — along with multiple dining venues, a spa, fitness centre, and the signature Watersports Platform that allows direct access to the sea.
In sum, the appointment of Libby Anschutz as godmother and the upcoming christening in Miami signal a new chapter for Windstar Cruises, as Star Seeker prepares to welcome her first guests under a blend of tradition and modern yacht-class comfort.
