Mitsui O.S.K. Cruises has outlined the introductory operating schedule for its new vessel, the MITSUI OCEAN SAKURA, formerly sailing as Seabourn Sojourn, which is set to enter service with a series of debut cruises running from September 19th through December. The program will comprise 29 sailings, built around a range of short itineraries lasting between one and three nights.

Sailing under the Japanese flag, the vessel will primarily operate short- to medium-length cruises that both depart from and return to ports within Japan. The company has indicated that general reservations for these inaugural voyages will open on January 19th, with further itinerary details to be released through official channels and affiliated travel partners.

The onboard product is designed to reflect the established service philosophy and operational standards of Mitsui O.S.K. Cruises’ existing fleet. At the same time, the MITSUI OCEAN SAKURA will introduce facilities not currently available on the MITSUI OCEAN FUJI, including a dedicated sushi bar and a footbath, marking a modest expansion of the brand’s onboard offerings.

Within the broader strategy of the Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Group, the cruise division continues to be positioned as a stable revenue contributor under the company’s long-term management framework, known as BLUE ACTION 2035. The introduction of the MITSUI OCEAN SAKURA is intended to complement the operations of the MITSUI OCEAN FUJI and support the group’s objective of strengthening corporate value through a focused and sustainable cruise business.
