Bremerhaven Cruise Port, under the operation of Global Ports Holding, brought its 2025 cruise season to a close after handling one hundred cruise calls and processing ~292,000 passengers, reinforcing its role as an established turnaround port/homeport in Northern Europe and laying groundwork for 2026.

Throughout the season, the port accommodated a significant volume of embarkations and disembarkations, reflecting continued confidence by cruise lines in its infrastructure and capacity to manage complex, high-throughput days. The facility’s extended single cruise pier, capable of berthing up to three large vessels simultaneously, along with adjustable passenger boarding bridges and multiple dedicated processing points, supported the efficient flow of travellers and luggage.

Bremerhaven’s configuration and access to regional transport links contribute to its suitability as a turnaround port, enabling reliable operations for both homeport and transit calls. The operational performance in 2025 demonstrated its ability to maintain consistent service standards across peak periods and multiple simultaneous ship movements.

As planning advances for the 2026 season, the port anticipates a combination of returning cruise lines and itineraries that will call at Bremerhaven, with local authorities and partners focused on sustaining operational excellence. In addition to core port functions, the harbour continues to connect visiting passengers to a range of shore excursions and nearby cultural destinations, enhancing the overall itinerary experience.

Bremerhaven’s performance in the just-completed season positions it to support further cruise sector growth in 2026 and beyond, maintaining its strategic importance within Northern European maritime networks.
