Windstar Cruises has formally added Star Seeker to its fleet following a christening ceremony held in Miami. The event marked the vessel’s official entry into service and preceded her inaugural 8-night christening voyage, which departs Miami for San Juan with scheduled calls in the Dominican Republic and the British Virgin Islands.
The 224-guest ship will remain in the Caribbean for an initial deployment before repositioning to Alaska. Subsequent itineraries will take the vessel to Japan and destinations across Southeast Asia, reflecting Windstar’s continued emphasis on varied, destination-focused itineraries for its small-ship fleet.
Star Seeker was christened by Libby Anschutz, daughter of Windstar owner Phil Anschutz. The ceremony continues a family association with the brand, as her mother, Nancy Anschutz, previously served as godmother to Star Pride, while her sister, Sarah Anschutz, is scheduled to christen Star Explorer in London in June 2027.
In remarks following the ceremony, Windstar Cruises’ president emphasized that the defining characteristic of the line lies in the onboard atmosphere created by its crew. He noted that consistent personal interaction, attentiveness, and a culture rooted in the company’s early sailing-ship heritage continue to shape the guest experience across the fleet.
