Marella Cruises has revealed the headline performers for its first musical-themed mini cruise, Musical Med-leys, scheduled to sail aboard the Marella Voyager in October 2026. The sailing will feature performances from West End artists including Lee Mead, Jenna Lee James and Zoe Birkett.
The 5-night themed cruise will focus on musical theatre entertainment presented in the ship’s Broadway Show Lounge, where specially produced shows will celebrate well-known songs from stage productions. Alongside the evening performances, guests will also encounter themed activities and musical-related events throughout the voyage, including trivia sessions and interactive entertainment.
Mead, who rose to prominence after winning the television programme Any Dream Will Do and subsequently portraying Joseph in the West End production of Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat, is expected to perform selections from that musical as well as material from his own recordings. During the sailing he is also scheduled to host a question-and-answer session, offering insight into his theatre career and experiences in stage productions.
James, recognised for her role as Elsa in the London production of Frozen, will perform songs drawn from major West End productions, while Birkett—known for portraying Tina Turner in Tina: The Tina Turner Musical—will present a programme reflecting key moments from her stage career.
The itinerary is scheduled to depart Corfu on October 30th, 2026 and will include two days at sea before calling at Palma de Mallorca and Cartagena, concluding in Málaga on November 4th.
Chris Hackney, managing director of Marella Cruises, indicated that the themed sailing represented a new development for the cruise line and had been introduced in response to customer feedback and market research suggesting strong interest in a musical-focused cruise experience. Mead similarly indicated that he anticipated performing well-known West End songs for guests during the voyage.
As with the line’s wider programme, the cruise will operate on an all-inclusive basis, with tips and service charges included in the fare. Prices for the Musical Med-leys sailing begin at approximately GBP 801 per person.
