TUI Cruises has revealed the three finalists in its search for the godmother of its forthcoming vessel, Mein Schiff Flow. The announcement follows several weeks of public participation, during which more than 24,000 votes were cast to determine the candidates who would advance to the final stage of the selection.
The finalists—Julia, Karin, and Annabelle—were chosen for the personal narratives that reflect the close relationship many guests maintain with the Mein Schiff fleet and with life at sea. Each account illustrates how voyages aboard the line’s ships have become interwoven with personal milestones and long-standing maritime memories.
Julia’s connection with the brand reaches back to childhood, when she first sailed on a Mein Schiff vessel. She describes the departure of a ship from port as representing both a new beginning and a profound sense of belonging, sentiments she associates strongly with the maritime environment.
Karin’s story centers on years of family travel aboard Mein Schiff ships, experiences that have led her to regard the fleet as something akin to a second home. Among the moments she considers particularly significant was her attendance at the christening of Mein Schiff 7, an occasion that further strengthened her personal attachment to the brand.
For Annabelle, the sea represents not merely a destination but an enduring way of life. Through successive voyages she has formed lasting friendships and, during one journey, met the partner with whom she later built a relationship, illustrating how travel at sea can shape the course of personal lives.
The final decision will determine who will assume the ceremonial role of godmother for Mein Schiff Flow in 2026. The selected candidate will join the ship’s inaugural christening voyage beginning on June 17th, with the formal naming ceremony scheduled for June 20th. In keeping with long-standing maritime tradition, the godmother will play a central role in the ceremony and will sail in a Junior Suite accompanied by a guest, with flights included.
The two remaining finalists will also take part in the vessel’s early sailings. Each will receive a 7-night welcome voyage aboard Mein Schiff Flow, departing June 26th and concluding July 3rd, accommodated in a balcony cabin with flights provided.
