Azamara Cruises has entered into an exclusive partnership with luxury golf travel specialist Premier Golf to introduce a dedicated series of golf-focused cruises beginning in 2028. The collaboration will combine the cruise line’s Destination Immersion® concept with curated golf experiences across Europe, Asia, the Americas, Australia and New Zealand, offering passengers access to some of the world’s leading courses alongside extended cruise itineraries.

The inaugural programme will comprise 23 sailings visiting a range of internationally recognised golfing destinations. Asia will feature prominently in the deployment, complementing Azamara’s expanded 2028 schedule, which includes immersive itineraries throughout Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia.

Through golf packages arranged by Premier Golf, guests on selected departures will have the opportunity to play courses including Seven Mile Beach Golf Club in Tasmania, Cabot Bordeaux Golf Club in France, New South Wales Golf Club in Australia, Valderrama in Spain, Tokyo Golf Club in Japan, Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland, Kingsbarns in Scotland and Old Head Golf Links at Kinsale in Ireland.

The programme has been developed for golf enthusiasts, PGA professionals, golf clubs and affinity groups, combining destination-focused voyages with organised golfing experiences ashore. In addition to rounds at renowned courses, passengers will have access to onboard golf-themed activities and the option to extend their holiday through pre- and post-cruise resort golf packages.

Azamara indicated that the partnership strengthens its destination-focused strategy by giving guests access to celebrated golfing venues while retaining the advantages of its small-ship product, including extended port stays and greater opportunities to explore destinations in depth. Premier Golf also noted that the cruise line’s longer time in port would enable travellers to experience golf destinations more comprehensively than traditional cruise schedules typically allow, while expanding access to courses across Europe, Asia and other regions.

Each sailing will feature an onboard PGA professional, supported by a programme of golf-related lectures, educational presentations, social gatherings, organised golf excursions and welcome and farewell events designed for passengers with a shared interest in the sport. Optional resort golf stays before and after the cruise will further extend the overall travel experience.

The partnership also introduces new opportunities for the travel trade. Travel advisors will receive a 10% commission from Premier Golf on the value of clients’ golf packages, while Azamara World Academy will add a dedicated Premier Golf training module to provide advisors with specialist knowledge and sales resources for golf-focused cruise holidays.

Further details of the 2028 golf cruise programme, including individual sailings and booking availability, are expected to be released in the coming months.
