MSC Cruises will introduce an expanded wellness concept aboard MSC World Asia when the new World Class vessel enters Mediterranean service in December 2026. The ship is scheduled to begin its programme on December 4th, with 7-night cruises calling at Barcelona, Marseille, Genoa, Civitavecchia for Rome, Messina and Valletta.
The vessel’s MSC Aurea Spa will form a central part of the onboard wellness offering, combining treatment facilities, thermal experiences and fitness areas. MSC Cruises has designed the spa with Asian-inspired elements intended to reflect the ship’s wider design concept, while maintaining a focus on technology-based treatments and personalised services.
Among the treatments planned for the spa are Dry Float Therapy by Starpool, Whole-Body Cryotherapy, Iyashi Dôme infrared therapy and LPG Endermologie. The programme is designed to address relaxation, recovery and skincare, complementing more conventional massage and beauty treatments.
Guests will also be able to undergo individual consultations before selecting treatments. The spa programme includes AI-assisted skin and scalp analysis, 3D FootBalance scanning, personalised facial treatments and recommendations based on individual wellness requirements.
The fitness component will be provided by the MSC Gym powered by Technogym. The facility will feature modern training equipment, functional exercise areas, group classes and personal coaching, continuing the fitness concept already established across MSC’s newer ships.
The Thermal Area will offer a selection of heat- and water-based facilities, including a panoramic sea-view sauna, snow room, aromatic steam rooms, Finnish and bio saunas, a Himalayan salt room and Japanese-style ganbanyoku beds. Experience showers, whirlpools and dedicated relaxation areas will complete the thermal circuit. Similar thermal concepts, including ganbanyoku, snow rooms and salt facilities, are already incorporated into MSC’s World Class spa design.
MSC Cruises said the expanded spa concept reflects the growing role of wellness within the cruise product. The company has positioned MSC World Asia's facilities as a combination of technology, treatment and relaxation spaces intended to provide an experience comparable with specialist wellness facilities ashore.
MSC World Asia is the third vessel in MSC Cruises’ World Class series. Its Mediterranean deployment will initially concentrate on 7-night itineraries linking Spain, France, Italy and Malta, giving passengers access to the new wellness facilities throughout the ship’s regular European programme.
