Swan Hellenic has expanded its 2027 Asia-Pacific deployment to 10 cultural expedition voyages, doubling its original schedule in response to stronger-than-anticipated demand following its inaugural regional season. The programme will operate between March and October 2027 aboard the 152-guest SH Minerva, covering a broad sweep of destinations across New Zealand, the South Pacific, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Japan and South Korea.

The line has also introduced a time-limited commercial incentive branded as “Asia Unlocked”, under which new bookings made by November 9th, 2026 will receive a complimentary upgrade to a balcony stateroom together with enhanced Wi-Fi access.

The revised deployment introduces two New Zealand sailings at the beginning of the season, followed by a sequence of South Pacific and Southeast Asian itineraries through the Coral Triangle, and concluding with an expanded Japan programme incorporating additional calls in South Korea, including Busan. Voyages are structured at between 10 and 13 nights and are designed to be combinable into longer Grand Voyages for extended regional exploration.

The thematic framework of the season remains centred on cultural encounters, natural history and Second World War heritage across the region. Itineraries include New Zealand’s fjords and Māori cultural sites, the volcanic and island landscapes of Vanuatu and Papua New Guinea, biodiversity zones such as Raja Ampat and Cenderawasih Bay, and historical ports across the Philippines, Japan and Korea.

In commercial terms, Swan Hellenic’s leadership attributed the expansion to sustained demand for expedition-style cruising in Asia-Pacific markets. Chief Commercial Officer Mario Bounas indicated that the increase reflects stronger-than-expected uptake and noted that additional regional depth had been introduced through consultation with local expertise, particularly in Japan and South Korea.

All sailings will be conducted by SH Minerva, which continues to operate as the line’s sole vessel for the programme, configured for small-group expedition cruising with lecture-led enrichment, panoramic public spaces and onboard dining designed to support destination-focused itineraries.
