Maritime Professionals Gather in Turku in May

NaviGate, an international fair for maritime professionals, has been organised at Turku Fair and Congress Center (Finland) from May 16 to 17, 2018. The event brings together about 200 companies showcasing their expertise.

Director Juhani Pitkanen from RCCL, Jorg Polzer, JPSC Strategy Consulting & Advisory Services, and Jan Meyer, CEO Meyer Turku Oy, among others, will speak about cruise ship building and renewal of maritime industry at the event.

Director, Business Development, Energy Solutions from Wartsila, Risto Paldanius, will be one of the speakers addressing renewable energy sources during the fair.

Other interesting topics during the event include the test area for autonomous vessels in Eurajoki, maritime industry digitalisation from international perspective and remote monitoring.

Arctic know-how seminar will be organised via connection with NaviGate. The Chamber of Commerce’s Transport Day and AEC (Arctic Economic Council) will also be featured at the fair.

The topics during the Transport Day include digitalisation and automation, i.e. autonomous vehicles and ships and the opportunities offered by digitalisation to logistics companies and maritime industry. The automotive and maritime industries are sectors that are strongly growing in South-West Finland and also ones that will be shaped by digitalisation.

The award "Logistics Company of the Year" will be handed out during an event organised by Chamber of Commerce.
