Godmother to Carnival Horizon Revealed

Grammy award-winning musical artist, TV and film actress, author and entrepreneur Queen Latifah has been named the godmother to Carnival’s newest cruise ship, Carnival Horizon.

Latifah will take part in the official naming ceremony and a special “Lip Sync Battle: Horizon” showcase which is part of the line’s shipboard reproduction of Paramount Network series. The event is to be held during invitation-only overnight gala on Carnival Horizon in New York on May 23, 2018.

Currently starring in FOX series “STAR,” Queen Latifah is a talent earning Oscar nomination, olden Globe nomination and SAG Award nomination for the portrayal as Mama Morton in Chicago. Latifah also received Emmy nomination, Golden Globe win and SAG Award win for her performances in “Life Support” and “Bessie,” HBO biopic on jazz artist Bessie Smith, along with accolades for her performance as title character in NBC "The Wiz Live!"

Latifah is also the first hip-hop artist to be honored with her own star on Hollywood Walk of Fame. She has earned 6 Grammy nominations and Grammy Award for Best Solo Rap Performance. Latifah's production company, Flavor Unit Entertainment, has grown to prominence, producing popular blockbuster hits, TV shows and independent films for various Hollywood studios.
