The first luxury cruise ship to be fitted out in Belfast, Northern Ireland "since the Titanic" set sail from the port city.

Royal Caribbean's 694-passenger Azamara Pursuit has been transformed by over 500 workers for Newry fit-out company MJM Group in a deal thought to be worth GBP 50 million.

It was the first time, and a first for the industry, that a single firm has been awarded complete responsibility for a refurbishment. The refit was carried out over June-July in Harland & Wolff ship yard in Belfast, where the Titanic was built.

Azamara Pursuit arrived in Belfast in April 2018 and cruised out ofthe port city earlier this week for a 2-day visit to Isle of Man, prior to returning to show off the results of the makeover to members of Azamara Pursuit's Club Voyage loyalty programme.

The first big cruise is a 15-night Wonders of Iceland itinerary.
