Norwegian Bliss Rerouted Due to Tropical Storm Willa

San Diego welcomed one of the largest NCL cruise liners being rerouted due to Tropical Storm Willa. The ship Norwegian Bliss entered San Diego Bay just before 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 24. 

The vessel was supposed to call at a number of Mexico ports but had to be diverted north after Willa moved ashore on Tuesday southeast of Mazatlan as Category 3 hurricane. Ship's original itinerary included as call ports Puerto VallartaMazatlanCabo San Lucas.

As a result, over 4,000 passengers disembarked in San Diego.

Hurricane's winds at landfall were estimated 120 mph. The hurricane has since been downgraded to tropical storm.
