Mexico Resort Conglomerate Introduces New Luxury Cruise Line

Mexico’s largest hotel & resort conglomerate announced the launch of a Mexican cruise line. Through its Vidanta Cruises, the Nayarit-based Grupo Vidanta already has travel operations on both sea and land.

The company announced it had invested 2.7 billion pesos (US$139 million) in the 15,396 GT Vidanta Elegant (formerly MV Voyager). The vessel will accommodate up to 298 passengers in 149 cabins and suites. It will also provide a crew-passenger ratio of 1:1 to ensure an exclusive guest experience.

Vidanta Elegant features 6 public decks equipped with a variety of gourmet restaurant options, eleven bars and lounges, a spa and gym, Jacuzzis, an open-air swimming pool on the top deck, and a virtual reality area.

The company intends to start offering voyages in the fall of 2019. It will operate from Vidanta’s resort in Nuevo Vallarta, Nayarit.
