The German corporation TUI AG announced it had acquired 3 river cruise ships for its new UK-focused cruise brand. TUI River Cruises is due to start operations in summer 2020, complementing company’s ocean cruise shipping brand in the UK - Marella Cruises.

TUI River Cruises will offer adults the ultimate flexibility to create a perfect river travel vacation, with optional land packages. Cruisers will be able to choose their board basis, whether it is full board plus beer, wine, and soft drinks included with meals, or the cabin type, premium drinks package, and even the favorite cocktail in the lounge. TUI added that the river cruise line will also offer a handful of balcony suites for those passengers seeking to add more luxury to their package.

Excursions will range from trips for avid adventurers and sightseeing tours with local experts for those who want to learn and relax, to bike tours for those looking to try something different. The cruise company will offer GBP 120 credit to put towards any shore trip bookings, allowing each client the opportunity to tailor their holiday in order to suit them.

Tips and service charges will be included in the cruise fare, as is the case with Marella.
