Second Expedition Cruise Ship Confirmed for Coral Expeditions

One of the major global shipbuilders of specialized ships, VARD, is cementing its relationship with Coral Expeditions after the success of the recently delivered Coral Adventurer built at VARD Shipyard in Vung Tau (Vietnam).

Delivered in April 2019, the 93.4-meter vessel, of VARD 6 01 design, commenced began operations in the Asia-Pacific region. The on-time delivery and excellent feedback resulted in the contract for a 2nd vessel with Coral Expeditions, named Coral Geographer.

Coral Adventurer and Geographer were tailored to meet the growing demand for Coral Expeditions’ product in the Australian market. With a focus on high quality, optimal passenger experience, and intimacy, the ships will allow its 120 guests to get closer to exotic locations in style and safety.

Coral Geographer is scheduled for delivery in 2020-Q4. The ship is already well advanced at Vard Vung Tau and will feature an increased proportion of Bridge Deck Balcony suites, each with a spacious horizon bath.

Alongside its performance capabilities, the vessel also boasts a pair of 65 PAX capacity “Xplorer” aluminum tender boats and 6 heavy duty inflatable boats for discovery trips. The ship is designed by Vard Design in Norway with a focus on environmentally friendly solutions.
