Disney Cruise Line Temporarily Closes Port Canaveral Terminal

The main terminal of Disney Cruise Line at Port Canaveral is closing for a few months in 2020.

Cruise Terminal 8 is due to close in June for a 5-month refurbishment. The closure will allow for the installation of a brand new curtain wall, the removal of ticket counters, the extension of the drop-off canopy, and seating replacement.

Disney's summer voyages will not be affected during the shutdown due to an agreement the cruise company signed with Port Canaveral, which gives it the ability to use Terminal 10 until work on Terminal 8 is completed.

The renovations come ahead of the debut of Disney Wish - Disney's newest and biggest ship - scheduled for inauguration in 2022. Disney Wish is the first of 3 newbuilds in the Disney Triton Class. All newbuilds will be ~144,000 tons, with 1250 passenger staterooms and LNG-powered (by liquefied natural gas).
