Ferry Services Disrupted Due to Strong Winds

Passenger ferries remained docked in most Greek ports on Thursday, January 2, due to strong northerly winds reaching up to 9 on the Beaufort scale. According to port authorities, ferry services to the Cyclades islands - from ports Rafina, Lavrion and Piraeus-Athens - have been cancelled. Only closed-type ferries were sailing to the Saronic Gulf's islands.

The Aghia Marina-Nea Styra route was also closed.

Authorities urged passengers planning to sail on Thursday to contact the cruise port or their travel agents prior to setting off.
