Greece Boasts Increase in Cruise Ship Arrivals

Arrivals of cruise ships in ports in Greece went up 14.34% last year compared to 2018, the Hellenic Ports Association announced.

Greece's 43 cruise ports handled a total of 3899 ships in 2019, which is a significant rise in comparison to 2018's 3410 vessels. Consequently, cruise ship tourists increased 15,64% - to 5,5375 million in 2019, from 2018's 4,788642 million.

Port of Piraeus (Athens, Greece)

Port Piraeus (Athens) is the most visited cruise port for a 10th consecutive year, with handled 410,512 passengers in 2019 (15,83% increase over 2018's 354,398 pax). Piraeus received 622 cruise ships in 2019, Santorini 592, Mykonos 550, Phodes 258, Souda Crete 132.
