The USA's largest river cruise company ACL-American Cruise Lines announced that the renaming of their riverboat fleet was complete and the company would expand to a total of 15 small ships in 2022.

ACL’s plan to rename and redesign its paddlewheel fleet was revealed earlier in 2021 at Seatrade in Miami Florida. Next season, all ACL riverboats and small ships will officially carry the “American” brand moniker. The company's cruise schedules are currently open to booking through 2023.

Riverboats Queen of the Mississippi, Queen of the West, and America, will become, respectively, American Heritage, American West, and American Splendor. American Pride will retain her name.

ACL’ growing fleet has doubled in the past five years and remains the only 100% USA-flagged/registered fleet of small cruise ships operating only domestic/USA river and coastal itineraries.

Studio DADO, the Miami-based design company commissioned to do the interiors for ACL’s new modern riverboats: American Melody, American Serenade, and American Symphony will be completing the remodel of American’s paddlewheel fleet. The project will begin this winter and will be finished just in time for American Cruise Line’s 2022 season which operates March-December.
