CLIA-Cruise Lines International Association launched a 4-week program that aims to enhance river cruise knowledge and expertise of travel agents.

The ‘River Cruise Challenge’ was rolled out by CLIA's River Cruise Working Group as the trade gears up for the wave period and is intended to boost destination and product knowledge, as well as help travel agents keep up to date with the fast-moving sector.

To complete the program, agents are encouraged to:

  • access CLIA river-specific learning tools
  • become members of both CLIA Europe & CLIA travel agent FB pages
  • engage with the help & training on offer from river cruise ship operators.

A raft of optional events, initiatives, and tools are on offer from CLIA to the trade including the RiverView online training module, the 10th-anniversary RiverView Conference in Budapest (Hungary) taking place in March 2022, and the main CLIA Conference which is scheduled for May 2022, where river cruise will form a key part of the overall content.

Further activities in 2022, including CLIA's first River Cruise Residential, will be announced shortly.
