With an increasing likelihood that Hurricane Matthew will hit the east coast of Florida late this week, South Florida cruise homeports are under USCG-ordered port condition X-ray, that triggers preparations in anticipation of 48 h to landfall.

The affected ports include Everglades (Fort Lauderdale), Miami and Palm Beach. Port condition x-ray was set at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday.

Hurricane Matthew, still powerful Category 4, was pummeled Haiti early yesterday. A hurricane warning is still in effect for Cuba's eastern provinces and southeastern, central and northwestern Bahamas. From Deerfield Beach to Volusia/Brevard county line, hurricane watch was issued for Florida.
