Seabourn has launched sales for its Ruby Collection, a programme of 54 ocean and expedition voyages scheduled throughout 2028 to celebrate the luxury cruise line's 40th anniversary. Covering the company's 5-ship fleet, the collection combines heritage-inspired itineraries, newly developed voyages, landmark expeditions and enhanced onboard experiences across destinations spanning the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, the Arctic, Antarctica, Southeast Asia, Japan and Alaska.
The anniversary programme is centred on voyages that reflect Seabourn's history as a luxury small-ship operator while expanding its expedition offering. According to company President Mark Tamis, the collection draws on the line's origins in 1988, when it introduced a fleet of yacht-style luxury ships, while continuing to focus on exploration through both its ocean and expedition fleets.
Among the highlights is the 120-day "Cape to Cape" World Cruise, departing on January 7th, 2028 aboard Seabourn Quest. The voyage will cover more than 26,000 nautical miles, visiting 58 destinations across 23 countries and 5 continents, including Antarctica, Easter Island, the Falkland Islands and Cape Town. A shorter 112-day option between Miami and Lisbon will also be available. For the first time, a Seabourn World Cruise will incorporate complimentary expedition-style experiences led by an 18-member expedition team, with activities planned in Antarctica, the Chilean Fjords and selected other destinations.
The collection also features the line's second Grand Expedition: Pole to Pole, a 96-day voyage aboard Seabourn Venture departing on August 16th, 2028. The expedition will sail more than 20,500 nautical miles from the High Arctic to Antarctica, visiting 14 countries and territories while including extensive exploration of Ellesmere Island, South Georgia, the Falkland Islands and Antarctica. Guests will also have the option of joining an 82-day Arctic-to-Antarctica itinerary departing later in the season.
A key component of the anniversary programme is the Yachtsman Collection, which revisits the concept on which Seabourn was founded by focusing on smaller ports and yacht harbours inaccessible to larger cruise vessels. In the Caribbean, Seabourn Ovation will operate 7- to 14-day voyages between Sint Maarten and Barbados, including itineraries through Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao. Several sailings will feature the line's signature Caviar in the Surf experience at Carambola Beach, St. Kitts, while Mediterranean voyages will include overnight stays in destinations such as Portofino and extended visits to islands including Pátmos. Mediterranean itineraries will also feature the company's Marina Day, allowing guests to enjoy complimentary watersports directly from the vessel.
The Ruby Collection introduces a number of newly designed itineraries and maiden calls. In Asia, Seabourn Encore will operate voyages centred on Japan and Southeast Asia, featuring overnight stays in Shanghai, Osaka and Kobe, together with inaugural calls at Taichung and Tainan in Taiwan. Selected departures have been scheduled to coincide with regional cultural events, including Taiwan's Pingxi Sky Lantern Festival, while the line's Shopping with the Chef programme will continue to offer guided visits to local markets.
In Alaska, Seabourn Encore returns with itineraries timed to coincide with the region's extended summer daylight, incorporating maiden calls at Petersburg, Valdez and the Chiswell Islands. The season will also include an eight-day pre-cruise Denali programme featuring rail travel, flightseeing and guided experiences within Denali National Park.
Elsewhere, Seabourn Quest will introduce a revised Canada and New England itinerary, returning to Red Bay and including an overnight stay in St. John's, Newfoundland, together with scenic cruising along the St. Lawrence River.
Seabourn's expedition ships, Seabourn Venture and Seabourn Pursuit, will expand operations across Northern Europe, the Arctic and the Canadian Maritimes. New itineraries will include extended exploration of Svalbard, additional calls in the Faroe Islands, including a maiden visit to Tvøroyri, as well as inaugural calls at Cape Clear Island in Ireland. Other expeditions will explore Greenland's coastline, the Torngat Mountains and Labrador.
In the Southern Hemisphere, expedition voyages will combine Antarctica with destinations including the Juan Fernández Islands, the Chilean Fjords, the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and Brazil. A new 34-day voyage will cross the South Atlantic, calling at Port Stanley, South Georgia, Saint Helena, Tristan da Cunha and other remote destinations while offering Zodiac excursions, kayaking opportunities, wildlife encounters and landings on the Antarctic continent.
The anniversary programme also includes the return of a number of established itineraries across the Baltic, Alaska, the British Isles, Southeast Asia and Antarctica, alongside a new partnership with The Atlantic. As part of the Seabourn Conversations enrichment programme, a 12-day Montréal-to-Boston voyage departing on October 4th, 2028 will feature discussions and presentations led by prominent contributors associated with the publication.
Throughout 2028, every Seabourn voyage will incorporate special events and themed entertainment commemorating the company's Ruby Jubilee, while voyages within the Ruby Collection will feature additional anniversary experiences and celebrations designed to highlight the line's four decades of operations.
