Celebrity Cruises announced that the inaugural season of Celebrity Edge was anticipated to start earlier, because the construction of the new ship would be completed ahead of schedule. The company will offer 5 new departures, including a second maiden cruise and short-term trips.

The two inaugural trips of Celebrity Edge, both of 7 nights, are between Eastern and Western Caribbean. Their routes are different, so passengers can join them into a 14-night trip. Thus the inaugural voyage to the Western Caribbean is scheduled to begin from Fort Lauderdale on December 9, 2018, with visits to Key West, Costa Maya, Cozumel, and George Town. The inaugural cruise to Eastern Caribbean leaves from Fort Lauderdale on December 16 and calls at San Juan, Tortola and Philipsburg.
