Azamara Journey cabins review
Of all Azamara Journey staterooms, 243 have step-out balconies (out of a total of 329 outside cabins). The cruise ship has a total of 355 staterooms, including 44 Suites, 199 Balcony, 88 Oceanview, and 26 Inside cabins. There are only 6 wheelchair-accessible (ADA-certified) cabins—2 Balcony, 2 Oceanview, and 2 Interior.
Four elevators (2 Forward and 2 Aft passenger lifts) connect all decks.
Below is a review of Azamara Journey staterooms, including furnishings, price-included amenities, and complimentary services:
All Azamara Journey cabins feature a bedroom (two twin beds convertible to queen, deluxe mattresses, pillow menu, two standard and two decorative pillows, deluxe bedding sets with Egyptian cotton linens, under-bed luggage storage, and bedside tables with lamps), a living area (loveseat/double sofa bed with throw pillows, coffee table, vanity desk with chair, ice bucket), a walk-in closet (with safe and mini-fridge/mini-bar), flat-screen TV (40-inch in inside, oceanview, and balcony cabins with infotainment system), and a bathroom (WC, single-sink vanity, magnifying mirror, under-sink storage, above-toilet shelves, and shower). Each cabin has individual climate control (A/C), 110-220V power (2 European and 2 US outlets), and USB ports under the bedside reading lights. A hairdryer is stored in a desk cabinet, and cabins are accessed via keycards.
Bathrooms are compact, with small showers (curtained). Amenities include brand-name toiletries (About Rose shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion).
Inside cabins offer Pullman beds (ceiling-mounted), while Oceanview and Verandah cabins feature pullout sofas for additional bedding.
The interactive TV system allows Internet access, room service ordering, checking onboard accounts, browsing restaurant and bar menus, viewing on-demand movies and live webcam feeds, and accessing the Azamara Cruises channel for news, enrichment lectures, and port talks.
All Suites and Balcony cabins have private verandas with floor-to-ceiling sliding doors. Each balcony is furnished with a dining-height table and two wicker chairs.
Complimentary amenities in all Azamara Journey staterooms and suites include a fresh fruit basket (replenished daily), one bottle of water per guest (replenished daily), fresh flowers, in-cabin dining (turn-down sweets and afternoon canapés upon request), personal stationery, Azamara tote bag, terry bathrobes and slippers, shoeshine service, binoculars, and umbrellas. The mini-bar includes complimentary sodas and beers, with alcoholic drinks available for purchase.
Inside staterooms come with two convertible twin beds, and some also have an additional sofa bed.
Oceanview staterooms fall into three main categories: obstructed view, porthole, and picture window, including wheelchair-accessible units (which are the largest). These cabins include a small sitting area with convertible twin beds, a vanity table, an armchair, and a sofa (some with sofa beds). Category 4 rooms (on decks 6 and 7) are larger at 200 ft² (19 m²). Category 8 rooms (obstructed view) have a panorama window, while Category 6 rooms feature a porthole window.
Balcony cabins (Verandah categories) come with sofa beds. Some have armchairs, while others feature convertible sofas.
Guests in Azamara Journey suites enjoy additional complimentary perks, including butler services (priority check-in, luggage delivery, packing/unpacking assistance, debarkation, tendering, and dining reservations), en-suite dining (including Afternoon Tea), shoeshine service, pressing (two items), welcome gifts, a premium liquor bottle of choice, wet bar setup (375 ml bottles of Bacardi Gold Rum, Bombay Sapphire Gin, Johnnie Walker Red, Stolichnaya Vodka, and juices), and complimentary specialty dining. Further perks include daily hors d'oeuvres, specialty coffees and teas, soft drinks, bottled water, and in-room spa services.
Continent Suites (Sky Suites) are 265 ft² (25 m²) with a 60 ft² (6 m²) balcony and feature a red and beige color scheme. Located on Deck 8, each suite includes a large sitting area (convertible sofa, armchair, table, 55-inch TV), a writing desk with lighted mirror and USB outlets, a larger closet, and a larger bathroom (with a bathtub). Portside suites include bathtubs and sofa beds; starboard suites have a glass-door shower and an armchair (no sofa bed).
Ocean Suites (Royal Suites, forward) range from 440 to 500 ft² (41–46 m²) and have large balconies (105 to 155 ft² / 10–14 m²) furnished with a two-seat dining table and two loungers. Each suite has a separate living room (with a four-seat dining table, 55-inch TV, and floor-to-ceiling windows), a master bedroom (king-size bed, 40-inch TV, and floor-to-ceiling sliding doors), a large walk-in closet, dressing room (with mirrored vanity and chair), a marble bathroom (with jacuzzi tub and glass shower), and a guest bathroom.
World Suites (Penthouse Suites), located aft, are 560 ft² (52 m²) with the largest balconies—235 ft² (22 m²), furnished with a two-seat dining table and two loungers. Layout and amenities are identical to Ocean Suites.
(NEW) The two Spa Suites (Deck 9 portside) include a rain shower and a glass-enclosed bathtub—both with ocean views. Each suite is 355 ft² (33 m²) with a 55 ft² (5 m²) veranda (with two loungers). Bathrooms feature a double-sink vanity, glass-enclosed jacuzzi tub, and a separate shower tower (rain head and body jets). The suites have two twin beds (convertible to queen), a sofa bed, a 55-inch TV, ample storage (walk-in closet and drawers), but no under-bed storage. Bonus perks include a Spa Concierge service, spa credit, Frette luxury robes and slippers, afternoon snacks, exclusive access to a private spa terrace, and a complimentary "Nights in Private Places" romance package (normally priced at USD 395).
Room Service is available 24/7 at no extra charge. Breakfast (served between 6:30–10:00 am) must be ordered by 1:00 am via door hanger cards. The breakfast menu includes eight set combinations and made-to-order items (eggs, omelets, steak, baked goods, cold meats, bagels, pancakes, waffles, French toast, cereals, fruits, yogurts, and juices). Lunch and dinner menus are the same, featuring beef consommé, chicken noodle soup, salads (Caprese, Caesar, spinach), club sandwiches (including seafood options), platters (with chips and salsa), three pizza varieties, pasta Bolognese, NY strip steak, BBQ chicken tenders, grilled sandwiches, oven-baked salmon, vegetarian dishes (including burger, lasagna, quesadillas, cheese pizza), chocolate chip cookies, soft drinks, and alcoholic beverages.
