Since 2021, the vessel has been owned by the French cruise company Exploris Expeditions (founded in 2022). Under the names "Prince Albert II" and "Silver Explorer," she was operated by Silversea between 2008 and 2023. Exploris One is an ultra-luxury, ice-strengthened megayacht operated on all-inclusive voyages, offering some of the highest-quality amenities and services at sea.
Silver Explorer deck plan changes – 2017 refurbishment review
The ship’s 2017 drydock refurbishment (May 1–21, in Cadiz, Spain) resulted in the following deck plan changes:
- All suites were renovated with new carpets, curtains, and mattresses. Bathrooms were upgraded with new rainforest showers and granite finishes.
- On Decks 3 and 4, a total of 16 new suites (Vista and View categories) were added, all with connecting doors, ideal for families and larger groups traveling together.
- All lounges were upgraded with new carpeting, furniture, and wall treatments.
- The fitness center on Deck 4 was doubled in size.
- The ship’s general interior color scheme was updated to “blue and beige.”
In 2018 (September 16–October 11), the ship was drydocked in Vancouver, BC, Canada for maintenance by Seaspan (Canadian shipbuilder) with the support of 125 local suppliers and contractors. Upgrades included assembly and installation of a new stern stabilizer (ducktail), propeller repairs and polishing, and blast painting of the underwater hull.
