THE A (built in 1993 as “River Ambassador”, with a major refit and refurbishment in 2011, part of "U by Uniworld" since 2018) is the second of the Baroness-class Uniworld ships, together with her fleetmate sistership River Baroness (THE B). Uniworld’s European riverboats typically carry fewer passengers relative to their size, resulting in more spacious accommodations, highly personalized and attentive service, and some of the highest crew-to-guest ratios in the industry. The Uniworld line offers some of the best river cruise deals with all-inclusive fares.

The River Ambassador deck plan includes a total of 59 staterooms for 118 passengers, served by 41 crew members. The ship features 3 passenger decks, 1 restaurant, and 2 lounges with bars, as well as a spacious Sun Deck (with café, shaded seating, and passenger-use bicycles), gym, spa, and self-service laundry facility. The vessel does not have a pool/whirlpool, sauna, or elevators.
