CCL-Carnival Cruise Line announced the next phase of its fleet deployment update for 2022, including new ship assignments for Port Canaveral (Orlando, Florida) and Jacksonville (JAXPORT, Florida) as well as additional itineraries and cruise ship assignments for an expanded offering of summer 2022 cruises from Seattle (Washington USA) to Alaska.

Carnival Cruise Line operates 10 year-round homeports in the United States, the most of any cruise company, and by March, will have restarted service in all 10 of its year-round U.S. ports.

With the opening of the Alaska cruise season in May, the line will have returned its entire fleet to service, which is less than ten months after restarting operations, completing a successful restart of its passenger operations and setting the pace for the rest of the industry.

  • Carnival Elation is moving from Port Canaveral to Jacksonville, effective April 23, 2022, to October 13, 2022.
  • Carnival Freedom is moving from PortMiami to Port Canaveral to pick up the itineraries that were formerly assigned to Carnival Elation, effective April 21 through October 15, 2022. Carnival Spirit is taking over several sailings assigned to Carnival Freedom, including the April 17 Carnival Journeys voyage from PortMiami through the Panama Canal to Seattle WA.
  • Once in Seattle, Carnival Spirit is due to operate sailings to Alaska from May through September 2022. Carnival Splendor is repositioning to Seattle and operating Alaska sailings assigned to Carnival Freedom.
  • Upon completion of the summer cruise season in Alaska, Carnival Splendor is expected to return to Australia with a new Journeys voyage to Sydney (NSW Australia). Carnival Spirit is sailing the Carnival Journeys relocation voyage Panama Canal to PortMiami that was assigned to Carnival Freedom.

Carnival Cruise Line is notifying booked passengers and travel advisors about the changes, which will result in the transfer of reservations to the new cruise ship assignments. Passengers impacted by the changes will not have access to the booking for up to 2 weeks as Carnival completes the process to move the bookings to the new cruise ships and provide equivalent accommodations.
