CCL-Carnival Cruise Line increases daily gratuity

   April 5, 2022 ,   Cruise Industry

CCL-Carnival Cruise Line is increasing daily gratuity, which is the first such increase since 2018.

The increase was communicated to booked customers via an email from Neil Palomba (CCL's chief operating officer).

Starting on voyages departing on/after May 1, 2022, the gratuities are as follows:

  • US$14.50 per person, per day for standard staterooms, up from US$13.99
  • US$16.50 per person, per day for suites, up from US$15.99.

Tips are automatically added to guests’ onboard Sail & Sign accounts.

Currently booked customers may pre-pay the tips at the current rates.

The increase in tips rates comes on the heels of CCL’s busiest booking week in the company's 50-year history. Between March 28-April 3, CCL saw a double-digit increase from the previous record 7-day booking total. With 22 of its 23 liners back in service and Carnival Celebration due to launch in November 2022, the brand will boast more capacity sailing by the end of the year than it did back in 2019.
