On May 7th, 3 cruise ships arrived at the Balears Wharf in the Port of Tarragona (Spain) simultaneously for the second time.

The ships were MSC’s Magnifica, Costa’s Firenze and Atlas Ocean Voyages/AOV's World Navigator. They arrived in Tarragona between 7 and 9 am and set sail for different destinations between 6 and 7 pm the same evening. While MSC and Costa have previously visited the port, the arrival of the Mystic Cruises USA-owned ship was AOV's maiden call at Tarragona.

Upon arrival, the passengers were assigned to several guided tours of the region to avoid overcrowding in a single location. The Director of the Tarragona Port Business Department, Genoveva Climent, participated in the ceremony to award a metope to the captains of the vessels, a custom to welcome cruise ship crews who dock for the first time at Port Tarragona.

According to a survey conducted at the end of 2022, residents of the Camp de Tarragona area have a favorable view of cruise tourism, and the environmental impact of cruise activity on the inhabited areas of the Tarragona coast is negligible. The electrification of the Moll de Balears will allow passenger vessels to connect to the electricity supply while in port.
