US Coast Guard (USCG) search and rescue coordinators suspended the search for missing Carnival cruiser in the Gulf of Mexico at 8:14 p.m. CDT on Sunday.

On Friday, 33-year-old Samantha Broberg was reported missing from Carnival Liberty, nearly 200 miles southeast of Galveston TX. Surveillance video showed the mother of four going overboard from ship's 10th deck at around 2 a.m. on Friday.

The 8th District command center of the USCG coordinated 20 hours of searching by alternating HC-144 Ocean Sentry airplane crews from Alabama's Aviation Training Center Mobile and Texas' Air Station Corpus Christi. The crews saturated a 60/90 nautical mile region in the Gulf of Mexico, with combined search area totaling over 4,300 sq.miles.
