Early Wednesday morning, December 13, the team aboard Carnival Vista executed a maritime rescue operation, saving 6 men who were stranded in the ocean near the Dominican Republic after a small cargo vessel capsized overnight.

Upon receiving an emergency alert through the ship's onboard monitoring system, Carnival Vista's officers, under the direction of Captain Paolo Severini, promptly altered the ship's course. This coordinated response with Carnival's Fleet Operations Center in Miami allowed the crew to spot 6 men on a life raft, leading to their successful rescue and subsequent boarding onto the Carnival Vista.

The ship's team immediately notified Coast Guard officials in the Dominicana about the additional missing crew members, initiating a search and rescue operation led by the authorities. Carnival Vista was directed to return to her original route after the successful rescue.

Despite the incident, Carnival Vista proceeded with her scheduled visit to Amber Cove. The ship, homeported in Port Canaveral/Orlando Florida USA, is currently on a 6-day roundtrip Eastern Caribbean itinerary that started on Sunday.
