RCI-Royal Caribbean has confirmed that it is presently exploring alternative routes for its 9-month-long Ultimate World Cruise, citing ongoing unrest in the Red Sea and Suez Canal as the impetus for the review.

In a statement, the cruise line acknowledged that the globally acclaimed voyage aboard the Serenade of the Seas, which has garnered significant attention on social media platform TikTok, may necessitate itinerary adjustments. Details regarding potential alterations are anticipated to be announced in mid-February.

Ensuring the safety of guests and crew remains the primary focus for Royal Caribbean. With regard to the scheduled transit of the Suez Canal in May, RCI is currently evaluating alternative options for the Serenade OTS in light of the circumstances surrounding the Red Sea. Further updates will be communicated to guests and travel partners in due course.

During a send-off ceremony in Los Cabos, Mexico (February 7th), the ship's Master (Captain Stig) informed passengers that Royal Caribbean would be making an official announcement regarding itinerary changes on February 16th.

Speculation regarding significant rerouting or an early conclusion to the voyage had circulated among passengers since January. RCI addressed these rumors by confirming that the tour of the Americas would conclude as scheduled in February, with plans to proceed with the second leg to Asia as originally intended.
