The MEYER Group presented forward-thinking initiatives and cutting-edge maritime solutions at Seatrade Cruise Global in Miami Florida last week, reaffirming its position as a technological frontrunner in the maritime industry.

At the forefront is the unveiling of pioneering projects, including a climate-neutral cruise ship concept developed within the NEcOLEAP research project at MEYER TURKU. Additionally, ALFRED Maritime, a digital venture of the MEYER Group, introduces the AI-based MEYER Energy Management System. Complementing these innovations are floating piers and terminals by MEYER Floating Solutions, along with the visionary future concept named ORIGIN.

The MEYER Energy Management System, a creation of ALFRED’s IIoT and data experts in collaboration with the MEYER Energy Efficiency Team, aims to enhance operational efficiency onboard ships. Providing actionable insights, the platform empowers ship operators and crews to optimize energy usage and reduce fuel consumption, leveraging accurate performance predictions and forecasts.

The AVATAR cruise ship concept symbolizes MEYER TURKU's commitment to climate neutrality, a focal point of the NeCOLEAP project. MEYER aims to develop and construct a climate-neutral cruise ship by 2030, with initial steps already underway.

Seatrade Cruise Global also showcases MEYER's diverse product portfolio for the cruise shipping industry, including innovative floating piers, terminals, and the Icon of the Seas ship model. Delivered in December 2023, Icon of the Seas epitomizes innovation and efficiency in modern shipbuilding, boasting groundbreaking features such as the AquaDome and record-breaking waterslides.

Looking ahead, MEYER presents ORIGIN, a futuristic cruise ship concept designed to meet evolving passenger needs and global trends. Featuring weather-independent amenities and reimagined accommodation areas for optimized passenger flow, ORIGIN represents a paradigm shift in cruise ship design, emphasizing innovative superstructure geometry and decentralized public spaces.
